This is getting to be a habit

Hey, I managed to update three days in a row (including today).

For those of you who are just dying to know whether the mice were dealt with or not, well it’s indeterminate. You see, it’s possible that they were all eaten up or that the cats didn’t manage to catch any of them. There’s been no sign either way. Just in case, we’re shutting the cats in the basement tonight, something I’m sure will endear us to their hearts. (Tomorrow we’ll free them. Those rabbits and squirrels are getting too obnoxious.)

So let’s see, I promised on other forums that I’d contribute something Savage Worlds related. A new Edge would be predictable. How about a new Race? (Yes, it is loosely based on Pai from 3×3 Eyes and Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho.)

Sanzan

Sanzans resemble humans with three eyes. Two human eyes and a third “alien” eye in the middle of their foreheads. The third eye is always a different color than the two “human eyes”, usually green, purple or red. When the third eye is closed, Sanzans are virtually indistinguishable from normal humans.

Few know exactly where Sanzans originated from, although some suspect they are the result of human-alien crossbreeding or genetic manipulation. Sanzans usually have two normal human parents or no more than one Sanzan parent.

In a modern conspiracy type game, Sanzans are either recruited by government agencies or hunted by them. In a swords & sorcery type game, Sanzans could be as common as elves or as rare and feared as dragons. In a space opera type game, Sanzans are simply another alien race, perhaps an ally of humanity.

Strange Power: Sanzans have “magical” powers similar to the Arcane Background (Psionics) Edge. Sanzans begin with 10 Power Points, two powers of their choice, and a d4 in the Psionics arcane skill. Sanzans do not suffer Brainburn.

Third Eye: The third eye is disturbing to normal humans and Sanzans suffer a -2 penalty to Charisma when it is open. However, it also grants a +2 bonus to Notice rolls when open. A Sanzan’s third eye must be open to use his or her powers.

Since I’ve gotten the hang of this blogging thing now, I’m allowing comments starting with this post. So what are you waiting for? Comment away!
